El cuidador familiar del paciente paliativo: diferencias en el bienestar psicológico teniendo en cuenta el vínculo familiar

Resumen

El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la relación existente entre el tipo de parentesco con el familiar paliativo y el malestar emocional experimentado por los cuidadores familiares principales. El estudio se ha llevado a cabo con una muestra de 213 cuidadores de familiares con patología variada en contexto paliativo, estando compuesta la muestra en su mayoría por mujeres (77,3%) y siendo la media de edad 61 años. Los resultados indican un mayor malestar psicológico asociado a la percepción del paso del tiempo en los cuidadores hermanos frente a otros parentescos familiares, lo que constataría la importancia de la relación familiar en la experiencia de enfermedad y cuidado. Los resultados ponen en relevancia la importancia de estudiar las variables familiares a la hora de llevar cabo intervenciones en los contextos paliativos.
