ESPACIOS VERDES URBANOS, FORTALEZAS, AMENAZAS Y OPORTUNIDADES DE MEJORA
Abstract
Las distintas formas de verde público urbano (EV) (bosques, parques, plazas,
jardines de edificios, cementerios, etc.) son muy apreciadas por sus múltiples
atributos y funciones, así como por los servicios ambientales que incrementan la
calidad de vida en las ciudades y por ende su atractivo. Tienen un alto significado
socio-cultural como lugares de encuentro social, interrelación e intercambio donde
grupos de distintos intereses convergen. Son sitios diseñados para usos previstos y
no previstos, con variados significados dependientes de las actividades que realizan
sus visitantes (García-Ramón et al. 2004). Desde los inicios de la civilización
acompañaron al hombre y su composición, estructura y usos reflejan los
paradigmas de la época.
